4/17/22 My husband made me 2 garden beds with free scrap wood about 3x10' from in-ground garden off patio.
In the east bed I loosened the soil with a pitchfork, removed rocks, added last year's sunflower heads, root balls, and sticks blown down into the yard, then alternated straw and dirt. Hope to get free woodchips from WeEnergies next weekend to top it off. Moved the clover into the lawn area.
4/19/22 Snow mostly gone. Cloudy and in 40s. Raspberries starting to bud. Transplanted some peppers and tomatoes to individual pots. Asparagus not up yet but found a receipt from end of May last year so they probably got planted end of May beginning of June.
4/18/22 Snow came. Pretty wet and heavy but started to melt in afternoon. Should be mostly melted tomorrow. Bird bug control came to check out beds. Greenhouse staying just above freezing.
4/20/22 Picked about 1/2 container, about 2-3 cups greens from cold frame. Claytonia is really growing well in cold frame. I like growing a variety of greens because they are easy to grow. Also dug up dandelions to put on bare soil circles where dead trees were removed. Some dandelions were purple cause they got frosted but others were green.
I think the shiny leaf plant may be a turnip. Time will tell.
