k hook, 4 ply yarn
I've been struggling for time so right now so I've only been able to post my handwritten directions and the pictures. However, I am continuing to learn new stitches.

V stitch by itself
This is just the V stitch by itself.
Previously I alternated rows of triples with rows of V stitch, see http://katscrafting.blogspot.com/2014/06/triples-vs.html

Another way to hold the crochet hook
I've been working on this plarn rug and I found that I was holding the hook yet another way.
Depending on the crocheting material, I tend to use the pencil followed by the knife hold.
http://katscrafting.blogspot.com/2014/05/holding-crochet-hook.html
I don't really use the violin bow hold.
This following hold seems to work better for this plarn material. Seems to give good control yet rests the wrist like the knife hold.

Loop (Fur Stitch) made with SC background- loops not cut
k hook, pink 4 ply yarn
All the odd rows are SC
All the even rows are SC, Loop Stitches... then end with SC
You hold your finger out with the yarn so you end up with about 1.5 inch loop or so. (However I imagine you can do what every size loop you want.)

When you're making the loop,
- First you put the hook in both loops of single crochet stitch in previous row just like normal
- Then you put the hook behind both parts of the loop and pull it through, leaving you with 3 loops on your hook. (For some reason my picture only looks like 2 loops on the hook but I think it's because one loop is stacked on top of the other.)
- Then you complete the SC loop stitch by YO and pulling that loop through the 3 loops on the hook.

SC with woven 8 ch loop to look like cable
k hook, 4 ply pink yarn
Pretty neat stitch.
Basically just sc, then every 5 stitches you make an 8 chain loop
At the end you loop the chains through each other and attach it when you make a SC.
