8/7/22 Carrots, mustard greens, beans. Light rain last night, all day, and into the evening.

Light rain all day with occasional breaks. Very comfortable to work outside in since it's in the 80s. Supposed to rain all night with clearing up in the morning. However we can leave windows open and fans on since the rain is so light. House is pretty damp. Only supposed to cool down to 70F tonight.

One mustard plant made 3 pints of greens. Pulled 3 atlas carrots. I love these short carrots. They grow well in our clay soil. We also have a high water table since we are near a swamp.

We are overrun with volunteer Kale in the west bedroom garden. I could easily fill our freezer with it. However it is supposed to tolerate frost and overwinter well so I'm storing it in the garden as live plants. Next year the tomatoes will go in the Kale bed. Maybe the tomatillos and cukes too.

Lot of green tomatoes. I've been eating raspberries and ground cherries direct from the garden and my husband has been eating cherry and dwarf tomatoes straight out of the garden. So lot of nibble food now. I've been forgetting to take pictures of the salad pickings. Lot of summer greens. Volunteer red orache that looks more green than red is going to seed. Sorrel and bloody dock are growing well so been using their leaves as mulch as their too tough and stringy to eat right now. The new sorrel leaves in spring are good. Will have to see how they taste after a frost.

I checked dill drying in dehydrator but it's not dry yet.
