8/8/22 Nasturiums and Tagetes Marigolds are very prolific. Interesting root cellar book

50s at night, 70s daytime. 80% humidity. Takes about 3 days to dry herbs in dehydrator. Hung herbs are not dry. There is at least one baby rabbit that likes to hang out in the garden.

Poppy, cilantro, marjoram, and thyme, nasturium, and tagetes marigold behind west garden. Supposedly tagetes marigolds are edible but they are very strong smelling. Tagetes marigold and nasturiums are growing very well. I've been cutting the tagetes marigold and putting it around the young peas and beans to try to hide them from the rabbits.

Radish, beet, and swiss chard seedlings coming up in west garden. Getting a cucumber too.

Moved seedlings outside to harden off under the tomatoes.

Dill finally dried. Picked some oregano, lime and blue spice basil to dry.

Picked quite a lot of greens for our salad.

This is a really interesting book that tells optimum storage temperatures and humidity for storing vegetables and fruits. It also has a lot of diagrams on how various root cellars were built. I'm not ready to do a root cellar and our ground water is very high here.
