Crochet symbols

You'll see in the photos of my notes that I am also learning European crochet symbols, such as • for slip stitch, a flattened ○ for chain, and + sign for single crochet but that's all that I can type on a keyboard.

Plus I have my crazy shorthand from when I taught myself crochet as a kid and who knows where I got those symbols. (Actually I ran across my pre-computer age notes and it appears that I got these symbols from a book called "Creative Crochet", very original title. However I did not record the author's name.) So far I have not run across the symbols I use. I normally translate patterns into my symbols before starting to crochet. I find them easier to read. The European symbols show promise too.

OK, you get the idea. There is a lot out there.
