Double crochet cross with Dramatic/External Increases & Decreases

This will give you practice in external/dramatic increases and decreases

K hook
4 ply lavender yarn
(Turning piece and working on both sides)

Here's my notes:

Chain 6
Row 1-3: 4 DC, ch 2 turn
Row 4: 4 DC then ch 6 (you are going to extend the size of the piece by 4 dc)

Row 5: DC in 3rd chain from hook, 3DC in next 3 chains, then 4 DC in next 4 stitches, THEN do 4 extended/no chain DC (See previous blog post on how to do), ch 2

Row 6: 12 HDC, then tie off

Row 7: Attach yarn at 5th DC, then ch 2, 4 hdc

Row 8-9: 4 DC, ch 2

Row 10: 4 DC, then tie off
